There is a well far away but there is a big python that lives there, no one goes there. Guru Sahib Ji hit the python with an arrow & gave it " Mukti " ( exemption from further transmigration ) & the python fell into the well. When the Sikhs went to fetch water, the water had gone bad so close to where Guru Sahib was sitting, Guru Sahib hit one more arrow & there was a water spring that came out & all the sikhs had a bath. On seeing this miracle, the old lady fell into Guru Sahib's feet & said " Peer Ji you are a wonderful Peer, I have a request. I have leprosy & i have gone to various places to get the treatment done but it has not been cured, kindly cure my disease & help me to get rid of this disease. The old lady had a bath in that water spring & was cured. She went back to the village & told about the whole story. Once, the mother and four sons of Guru Gobind Singh were slaughtered by the Mughals. At this time, Sri Gobind Singh Ji was called uchh da pir. He left the place and reached Alamgir on 14 January, 1761. When he reached here, a follower of his, who was a horse trader of the village named Bhai Nigahia Singh, offered him a horse.
While traversing the area, guruji asked an old lady who was picking cow dunk for some water to take a bath. The old lady addressed the guru as pir ji and told him that there is no water in this place as this is a place of shell. She told guruji that in a place nearby there’s a well from where the guru can get water, but due to presence of a python there, no one goes to that well.
After listening to her, guruji went to that place and hit the python with an arrow to make him mortal so that he can be exempted from further transmigration. The python fell into the well and the water become dirty. Again there was no water in the village.
Then Guru Gobind Ji hit an arrow in the ground and from there came out a water spring. With this water, all the Sikhs of the village could take a bath. After watching this miracle, the old lady fell to the feet of Guru Gobind and became his follower.
At that moment she said Guru Gobind is a wonderful Peer on the earth. She was suffering from leprosy and was avoided by everyone. Gauru Ji asked her to take a bath under the water spring with full faith and belief. She followed the instructions and her disease was cured.
Later, Guru Ji said that whosoever takes a bath in this holy water spring with belief in God, it will relive him or her from all the sadness and suffering. After this incident, Guru Gobind Ji went to Rajkot on his horse, which was given to him by the horse trader.

In the earlier times, the idol of the lord used to reside in the temple of Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh.
History of  Govind Dev Temple

This famous temple was established by Srila Sanatana Goswami and was the first temple to be built in This deity was established by Srila Rupa Goswami who was ordered by Lord Chaitanya to excavate all the lost holy places of Vrindavan. Five thousand years earlier, Lord Krishna's grandson, Vajranaba, installed a number of important deities in Vrindavan, Govind dev ji is one of them. Rupa Goswami visit all over Vrindavana to locate the Yogapith, the resting place of original deity of Govind dev ji, but after a month of searching, the deity could not be found. Rupa Goswami feeling disappointed, came and sat by the bank of river Yamuna and shedding tears, began calling the name of Lord Chaitanya -"Ha Chaitanya Ha Chaaitanya" (oh Chaitanaya). Suddenly Lord Krishan in the guise of a beautiful brajvasi boy appeared and informed Rup Goswami that a cow came every day to a near by hillock, and emptied its milk in to a hole in the hilltop. He asked Rupa to accompany him to the place and see what might be in the hole. Rupa Goswami followed the boy and upon reaching the spot, the boy disappeared. Looking within the milk drenched hole, Rupa Goswami immediately fell unconscious in a wave of ecstatic emotions. When he recovered, he summoned the local people who excavated the hole and found the beautiful deity of Lord Govind dev ji.
Lord Govindadeva and all the important Deities of Vrindavana had been moved to safer places. The solidiers of Aurangzeb dismantled the top floors of the Govindaji temple and desecrated the sanctum sanctorum as well as mutilated all the stone carvings within the temple. Because the soldiers of Aurangzeb desecrated the main temple, it is believed that worship cannot continue in that temple. Therefore this temple was established behind the original Govindaji temple and it contains the pratibhu Deities of Radha Govinda. The original Deities of Govinda were brought to Jaipur. The pratibhu Deities are considered to be the same as the originals.
Before its destruction the temple stood seven stories high. Just two stories remain. Still, the Radha Govinda Temple remains a towering monument to Lord Govinda and a place where one can feel a connection to the great saints of the past and the history of Krishna devotion in Vrindavan.

About  Madan Mohan Temple

Madan Mohan Temple is Located  near the Kali Ghat,Vrindavan,Mathura in Uttar Pradesh. This temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna. This is the oldest temple in Vrindavan.Madana-Mohan Temple Madana-Mohan means “one who can even enchant Cupid.” In the temple, there are three altars. Madana-Mohan stands on the center altar, with Sri Radha on his left and Lalita Devi on his right. The temple is closely associated with the saint Chaitanya Mahaprabhu . The original image of Lord Madan Gopal was shifted from the shrine to Karauli in Rajasthan for safe keeping during Mugal emperor Aurangzeb's rule. Today, a replica of the image is worshiped at the temple.

History of  Madan Mohan Temple

History of the Madan Mohan Temple Vrindavan: There is a very long and interesting story associated with the Madan Mohan Temple. There was a merchant by the name of Ram Das Kapoor. It so happened that a ship he owned went aground. This was as it is very unfortunate and on top of that the ship happened to be loaded with a whole lot of goods. He would have to face severe financial losses because of this. After receiving Sanatana Goswami's advice, he prayed to Madan Mohan for help. The Lord answered his sincere prayers and his ship was rescued. He reaped a huge profit from the deal and decided to contribute the money to build a temple in honor of Madan Mohan.

As for Sanatana Goswami, he was the person who had been entrusted with the responsibility of worshipping the deity of Madan Mohan by Purusottama Chaube even before he had advised Ram Das Kapoor to build a temple. Actually the original deity of Madan Mohan was founded by Advaita Acharya at the base of an old vat tree when he was on a tour to Vrindavan. He had given it to his disciple Purusottama Chaube who in turn had handed it over to Sanatana Goswami. After the temple was set up by Ram Das Kapur at the behest of Sanatana Goswami, the idol of Madana Mohana came to be worshipped there. The Madan Mohan Temple was positioned on top of a 50 feet hill known as Aditya Tila. It opened its doors for the devotees' way back in 1580. Till today it is visited by a large number of devotees even though unfortunately the deity that is now worshipped here is not the original one. It is just a replica of the original which was transferred from Vrindavan to a place called Karoli located to the south east of Jaipur in Rajasthan. This was done in the year 1670 to protect it from the invasions of the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. At the foothills, there is yet another Madan Mohan Temple that is far newer and is believed to have been built by Sri Nand Kumar Bose of Bengal. Here too Madan Mohan deities are worshipped.

It is believed that it was constructed by excavating approx. 200,000 tones of rock and is possible the world's largest monolithic structure. Representing Shiva's Himalayan home, the temple is exquisitely sculpted with scenes from Hindus mythology, each pulsing with drama, energy and passion.

The main body of the temple occupies a parallelogram, 45 metres by 33 metres, with sections of its sites projecting at intervals. It stands on a high plinth which is carved with sculptures of elephants and lions. The larger halls of the temples are decorated with images of Brahmanical Gods. The tower of the temple is in three diminishing tiers and is crowned by a cupola. The whole tower is 28.5 metres high. The gateway of the temple is double storeyed. History of  Kailash Temple

The depiction of the demon Ravana shaking Mount Kailash is a masterpiece contain the scenes of semi-mythological history, the royal court and popular life of the ancient times, as told in romances and plays. Some pictures recall the Greek and Roman compositions and proportions, few late resemble to Chinese manners to some extent. But majority belongs to a phase which is purely Indian as they are found no where else. These monuments were constructed during two different periods of time separated by a long interval of four centuries. The older ones were the product of last to centuries before Christ and belongs to Hinayana period of Buddhism in later part of 2nd century AD when Buddhism was divided into two sections, after the conduct of the fourth general council under another great king, Kanishka.

The new feature of Mahayana Buddhism was the concept of future Buddha's. The Buddha, himself probably thought that he was the last of the long succession of earlier Buddha's who lived before him. According to the Buddhist traditions, these former Buddhas were revered even in the historical Buddha's lifetime. By the time king Ashoka, their cult was widespread and was patronized by Ashoka. Later, when the stupas were constructed and beautified, the carvings were executed in a symbolic way. An inspired sculptor began to carve images of Buddha himself and within the few generations, all the Buddhist sects took to worshipping images. The universe of Mahayana contains numerous Bodhisattava, the chief of whom is Avalokitesvara with attributes of compassion. He is also called Padmapani or the lotus bearer. The Manjushri with a naked sword in one hand, stimulates the understanding. The sterner Bodhisattava who is a foe of the sin and evil and bearing a thunderbolt in the hand is Vajrapani. The future Buddha, Maitreya will take birth to save the world.
