Tulja Bhavani temple is most popular temple which is situated in small village Ranu near Vadodra Gujarat.The temple is about 700 years old.The statue/ idol was found by one saint. The present mahant offered us food and it was blessing of mother. She is the family goddess worshipped by the Maharaja Gaikwad of Vadodara.During Navratri days, the idol of Tulja Mataji are decorated with precious diamonds & rare jewelry given by Maharaja Malharrao Gaekwad, 150 years ago. After the festival is over, the diamonds & jewelry are kept in locker in Padra.Tulja Mataji are kuldevi of the royal Gaekwad family. The family members still come here to seek the blessings on 8th day of Chaitra Navratri & Aaso Navratri.

Mahant Kavindragiri, the care taker of temple says that 700 years ago Brahmshree Vishwambhar Giriji Maharaj came to Ranu village for worshipping Mataji & to serve the people. From blessings of mataji, they lit an diya near a small temple there. At back side of temple, they dug a small place called Mansarovar, where they found statue of Mataji, which is the idol of Shri Tulja Mataji, now installed in the Temple. One can also see 700 year old diya till lit up inside the temple.

People from Gujarat, Maharashtra,Orissa, Kerala & from abroad come here to seek blessings from Mataji. During 8th day of Aaso Navratri & Chaitra Navratri, Havan is done for peace & prosperity of people & earth

History of Tulja Ma of Ranu 

Seven hundred years ago Saint Shree Vishwambhargiriji Maharaj stayed at Tuljapur in Maharastra. He was true devotee of Maa Tulja Bhavani. One day he Pray to Maa that u made your Dham in South but Maa what about north? Devotees having lots of trouble to reach here for your darshan. Maa listen his prayer and one night Maa came in his dream and said him that I am with u in your Akhand Jyot. U go where people facing water problem, and fulfill their requirement of water by digging ponds and cherish there life. And u will find me while digging the Pond at one of the place. As per the year of Indian Hindu calendar vikram samvat One thousand three hundred sixty three and the day was Sunday durgastmi Saint Shree Vishwambharji Maharaj reached at Ranu with his Akhand Jyot. In order to bless the mankind who are illiterate and ordinary human beings who are unknown of Upanishads and Sastras, as Maa said to Saint Shree Vishwambharji Maharaj to search for her in one of the pond in saakara as idol form. Saint Shree Vishwambharji Maharaj Start Akand Dhuna with Akhand Chit. And finds a saakara Maa’s idol in one of the pond at Ranu.

Before 200 hundred years ago Shri Swaminarayan Bhagvan and his followers visited Ranu for the blessing of Maata Ji. He had a bath in Maan Sarovar from which Maataji’s idol was found and also did seva, pooja, and aarti. He was very much satisfied by blessing of Maa and told his followers that “Shiv and Shakti are one. There is nothing without Shakti. So who every will do pooja of Maa Tulja over here he will also get a blessing of mine too.” At that time Mahant Shree Prabhatgiriji Maharaj and Shri Swaminarayan Bhagvan both had satsang at Ranu in the temple of Maa Tulja Bhavani. Shree Swaminarayan Bhagvan impress with Saint Shree Prabhatgiriji Maharaja’s bhakti and devotion towards Maa. Shree Swaminarayan Bhagavan Gifted his own “Shal”(Gaudadi) to Mahant Shree Prabhatgiriji Maharaj at Village Dabhan During his Satsang, till date the “Shal”(Gaudadi) is available for darshan for the devotees in temple.

 About Temple
The Tuljadevi Temple(Shakti Pith) is located in Solapur Road, Tuljapur, Osmanabad, Maharashtra India.The temple was built in 12th century.The temple is dedicated to Goddesh Durga (Tuljadevi).The architecture of the Tuljabhavani temple is of Hemadpanti style, which was prevailant and famous in early Indian era. While entering the Tuljabhavani temple there are two big gates or Mahadwars. After entering the temple first we observe Kallol Tirtha which is a combination of one hundred and eigth tirthas or sacred waters. The Tuljabhawani temple is located on this hill. Another legend mentions the story of a a sage known as "Kardam" After his death his wife "Anubuti" had performed a penance at the banks of river "mandakini " for Bhavani mata to look after her infant child. While performing the penance the demon known "Kukur" tried to disturb her penance during which the Goddess came to the aid of "Anubuti" and killed the demon "Kukur". From that day onwards the Goddess Bhavani came to be known as Tulja Bhavani. 
The main entrance of the temple bears the name of Sardar Nimbalkar. The other two entrances are named after the parents of Shivaji Maharaj, that is Raja Shahaji, and Rajmata Jijavu. As one enters the Sardar Nimbalkar entrance, there is a temple dedicated to Markandeya Rishi on the right. After descending the stairs, one sees the main Tulja Temple. There is yagna kund  in front of this temple. On the floor near two main gates (Raja Shahaji Mahadwar and Rajmata Jijavu main gate), there are two libraries named, Shree Santh Dnyaneshwar Dharmik Library and Shree Tukaram Dharmik Library. After alighting from the stairs, there is `Gomukh Theerth` on the right side and `Kalakh`, also known as `Kallol Theerth` on the left side. Before entering the Sanctum sanctorum of the Goddess, devotees take a dip here in these theerths (Shallow tanks of "holy" water). There are also Amruth Kund and a Datta temple on the premises. A Siddhi Vinayak temple is situated on the left side of the main gate whilst on the right, there is a temple of Aadishakti, Aadimata Matangadevi. A temple of goddess Annapurna is also present in the main complex. 
The idol of Goddess Tulja Bhawani is believed by her devotees to be swayambhu . The high granite idol is three-foot tall , with eight arms holding weapons, and bearing the head of the slain demon Mahishasura. The Goddess a is also known as Tulaja, Turaja, Tvarita and Amba.
History of  Tulja Bhavani  Temple Tuljapur 

The history of the temple is also elaborated in the Skanda Purana. An old legend states that once there was a sage Kardam. When he expired, Anubuti- his wife made repentance to Goddess Bhavani along the banks of Mandakini River. While she was making repentance a demon named Kukur started disturbing her. This is when Goddess Bhavani came to the rescue of Anubuti and slew the demon. From then, Goddess Bhavani is known as Tulja Bhavani. 
Another legend states that in ancient times, the devtas and mankind were troubled by a demon Matanga. When the devtas approached Lord Brahma, he advised them to take help from Goddess Bhavani. She took the form of destroyer and overpowered the demon. 
A third legend states that Goddess Bhavani slayed another demon, Mhisha who was in the form of a buffalo. After slaying the demon she toll abode on the Yamunachala hill where the temple is located today.
