Rama Kunda is located 11km off Jaisalmer on the Ramgarh road on the bank of the Kak river. The Rama Kunda temple monument was built by Mansukhi Devi, the wife of Amar Singh, the Maharawal from 1659-1701. In Amar Singh’s time lived a saint called Anant Ram who was the guru of the Maharawal.

The temple monument itself has some inscriptions written on the walls and outside on the Govardhan Pillars which were added to the complex in the early 18th century. The principal deity, as the name of the temple suggests, is Ram, but there are also images of Ganesh, Mahishasur the demon bull and Bhairu. New statues of Rama and his brother Lakshmana were installed in 1988. In the temple are available one gudari (cloth), one mala (necklace) and a topa (cap) for worshippers. Nearby lie some beautiful cenotaphs with intricate carvings. Rama Kunda has become a major tourist attraction and worth taking a camel ride too.
